This is Jason Cabaniss, host of Electric Waves, every Wednesday from 11pm-midnight. 2025 featured a great selection of releases that opened my ears to new sounds and scenes around the world. I got immersed in Japanese ambient trance, UK grime/dubstep/jungle, and was introduced to burgeoning pockets of the electronic underground here in the Pacific Northwest. My list includes albums featured on Electric Waves as well as a few things that were personal favorites outside of my show. Rock and country albums by Graham Hunt and Wicca Phase Springs Eternal sit alongside the electronic workouts of Akasha System and Low End Activist, which showcase the variety of excellent music that came out last year.
