Hi, I’m Trent Kelly of The Wave Show that airs here on SPACE 101.1 FM Monday nights at 9pm. My catch phrase is ‘I spin alternative tracks from retro to today with an eye on Northwest artists.’ Its format is based on alternative radio stations here in Seattle from the 80’s that I grew up with (KYYX/Kjet). I even borrow a few of their radio jingles.
So below are 10 NW based bands I played during my segment ‘Local Vibrations’ in 2025 where I celebrate DIY artists in the Northwest. I wouldn’t be able to rank them; I think each one is truly magical and each one honors subsets of the genre I love ‘Alternative Music.’ I had the privilege to interview many of the below artists on my show. If you’re in a band here in the NW and would like to be featured on my show, shoot me an email to TheWaveShow@Outlook.com or DM me at The Wave Show on Instagram. I eagerly look forward to discover more great Northwest artists in 2026 where you may not hear anywhere else than on SPACE 101.1 FM. Enjoy!
