Happy New Year! I am Benjamin Warren, host of Exploring Magnuson Park – heard Thursday afternoons at 2pm. I usually bring you interviews and news about what’s going on in our park community. But today it’s time for my Top 10 SPACE 101.1 Songs.
Another year has passed with tons of incredible music on SPACE 101.1 FM. That Spotify playlist I mentioned last year with all my favorite songs from the SPACE Mix and our other programs, has grown significantly. Now it’s time to choose more of my favorite songs. Lucky for me, my Top 10 SPACE 101.1 Songs for 2025 contains only new songs I heard over the course of last year, not the last 3 years like my previous list and not songs I’d heard before, so choosing songs this year was a little easier (but not by much). If you tune in to Exploring Magnuson Park, you’ll have heard these on my New Year’s Day episode which you can listen to on the show’s program (click the button below). Check out my list below and keep tuning in to SPACE 101.1 to hear my favorite songs and find some new favorite songs of your own.
The countdown begins…
10) It’s a Rockin’ World – Joe Strummer
9) Honey – Samia
8) Le Silence – Juniore
7) Optimystic – Ben Kweller
6) Tehachapi – Margo Cilker
5) Nora – Case Oats
4) Superboy And Supergirl – Math and Physics Club
3) Northgate Way – Smokey Brights
2) Who Built The Moon – Shinyribs
1) We Sing In Time – The Lonely Forest
BONUS: Tullycraft
That’s right, I have some bonus Tullycraft picks again. Listeners tuning in to my program know all about my love for this incredible band and I feel the need to share that love with all of you, too, especially since 2025 saw the release of a brand new album, Shoot the Point. This was the first album released since The Railway Prince Hotel in 2019 and I was pretty excited about it. Yes, it is amazing. Yes, you should listen to it. Yes, I can share my top 2 songs from the album.
