About this program

Post Holes is a musical showcase bringing you the heavier, noisier, and more experimental sides of music from the past and now. Featuring metal, noise, post-rock, post-punk, post-hardcore and more. If you like Swans, Sumac, Chat Pile, Blood Incantation, and Botch come tune in. If you don’t need clean vocals or 3 minute songs, then welcome. Some weeks will have a thematic story woven in, and we guarantee that every show will bring a bit of intensity and heaviness to the start of your week.

About the DJ

I am a lifelong native of Western Washington, vinyl collector, and music explorer. My musical palette expanded from my home town of Enumclaw, WA due to the older siblings of friends, Bluebirds Records, the faint signals of KGRG, early 90’s KNDD,  late nights watching Bombshelter Videos, Night Flight, and combing through any random copies of Backlash and The Rocket I could get my hands on.

Once I moved to Seattle, I worked at Cellophane Square Records and became deeply involved with local and traveling theater companies, independent filmmaking, and recording experimental electronic music in the band Hakea, who performed at the first four years of the Seattle-based Decibel Festival.

My love of diving into unexplored genres has only grown throughout the years, and my passion is to share and learn from others about the ways musical history is a web that connects many disparate parts. For me, music is best enjoyed as an active listener, where it is not just heard, but deeply felt.

If I’m not at home cataloging and listening to my vinyl collection, I’ll likely be found at a record shop, live show or reading about the history of a long gone music producer or period of musical history.
