About this program

Seattle Sound Check is a weekly radio show with episodes driven by the bands performing live in the Seattle area in the coming weeks. Seattle Sound Check leans towards indie rock/pop, but loves all kinds of music, especially if it’s danceable. The show always highlights new music, some lesser known artists, and of course, musical talent local to the PNW. Seattle Sound Check is inspired by a long time love of experiencing live music, and a desire to highlight the variety, and sheer volume, of fantastic artists always performing right here in the Seattle area. I hope this show gets you excited about new music, and inspires you to support artists and see a live show soon!

About the DJ

PK is Patrick Keenan, I live near Magnuson Park and have been a Space 101.1 FM listener and supporter since I first discovered the station while driving around town in 2018. I have always been a huge music and radio fan since buying my first 45 record as a pre-teen, and tuning in local college and alternative stations like WLIR, WFMU, WFUV and WNYU while growing up in NE New Jersey. KCMU and KEXP have been an inspiration for me since moving to Seattle in the early 90s. Seeing and hearing great music performed live gives me a thrill, and it inspires my show, Seattle Sound Check. When I’m not working on my next set list, you may find me skiing, hiking, biking, or catching a live show around town.
