“The Fin Project: From Swords into Plowshares”

Sculptor John T. Young created this installation using 22 diving-plane fins from decommissioned US Navy attack submarines built in the 1960s and arranged to simulate the dorsal fins of a large Orca whale pod. The sculpture was dedicated in 1998.
