Over the next several weeks we will be featuring Top 10 lists from some of our DJs and volunteers here at SPACE 101.1 FM.
Each Sunday at 5 pm Mary creates eclectic and elaborate soundscapes featuring jazzy vocals, experimental arrangements, and an abundance of strings. Below are her personal favorites of the year. You can also check the Spotify playlist featuring these selections

- mk.gee – Alesis
mk.gee’s Two Star & The Dream Police is one of my favorite albums of the year. It’s hard to pin down musically, it’s murky and shape shifting and yearning, and as Pitchfork said, “as singular as it is familiar, an original and expansive record that feels at once timeless and uncannily contemporary.” Mike Gordon is one to watch out for on the production side too, he’s already worked with the likes of Fred Again and Omar Apollo, and rumor has it he’s working on new music with Justin Bieber. - Arooj Aftab – Aey Nehin
Some truly beautiful music from Arooj Aftab’s follow up to Vulture Prince, Night Reign. The lyrics to Aey Nehin are a poem by the Pakistani actress Yasra Rizvi. I like to keep this track on loop if I’m having a hard time falling asleep, especially on airplanes. - Mabe Fratti – Kravitz
Guatemalan cellist and composer Mabe Fratti strikes again with her release Sentir que no sabes (Feel Like You Don’t Know). This is her third album in 8 months! Keep going, Mabe! - WILLOW – b i g f e e l i n g s
- Tanner Porter – Overthinker
- Bon Iver – SPEYSIDE
- The Smile – Don’t Get Me Started
- Remi Wolf – Cinderella
- mary in the junkyard – goop
- Beyonce – AMERIICAN REQUIEM
