SoundPages is produced by Jack Straw Cultural Center as part of the Jack Straw Writers Program. This podcast features interviews and live readings from artists in the program. Each year a series of twelve episodes is produced featuring the current Jack Straw Writers interviewed by the program curator. Writers are selected based on artistic excellence, diversity of literary genres, and a cohesive grouping of writers. The writers program features voice and presentation training, in-studio interviews, public readings, a published anthology, and podcasts. Live readings are recorded, and selected portions are produced for podcasts and radio broadcast.
Curators and staff of the Jack Straw Cultural Center interview authors in the Jack Straw Writers Program.
Jack Straw Cultural Center is the Northwest’s only non-profit multidisciplinary audio arts center. A community-based resource since 1962, they provide a production facility that is unlike any other in the region for local artists who work creatively with words and sound. Jack Straw focuses on annual artist residencies through their Artist Support Program, Writers Program, and Gallery Residency Program; art and technology education for all ages; arts heritage partnerships; and radio and podcast production. Their full-service recording studio is also available for a range of arts projects.
