Am I Punk Yet?

About this program

Do you want to dance? Do you want to revolt? Are you punk yet? Who knows

“Am I Punk Yet?” is a punk variety hour highlighting riot grrl, anarcho punk with new wave and proto punk palette cleansers. Tune in for a bit of local and international punk history. DJ Crass But Kind keeps it old school by playing only physical media from the SPACE station in Magnusson Park. Featuring both local and emerging artists, “Am I Punk Yet?” also features classic bands such as The Slits, The Clash, Bad Brains, X, The Damned, Richard Hell, Minutemen, Minor Threat, Rudimentary Peni and more. Listen in for on air interviews with Seattle community, bands & locals and periodic acoustic sets of local acts.

DJ Crass But Kind was saved by Riot grrl, so keep an ear out for her personal favorites every Friday on Am I Punk Yet. For the kids, the gals, and everyone else.

About the DJ

DJ Crass But Kind also goes by Ms. S during the day while teaching high school math. She wanted to be a radio DJ since she first heard Wolfman Jack in her early teens, so, in his memory, Am I Punk Yet is analog only. She is constantly inspired by the scene around her, talking to strangers, going to house shows for bands she’s never heard of. She aims to show punk as the community-based political force that it is and always has been. Something to give a voice to the kids.
