About this program

Pachanga is a Mexican slang word for party! I cross a lot of genres on Pachanga, from 70s/80s glam rock and new wave to more modern indie pop/rock, but generally try and keep an upbeat and lively mood. Tune in for unexpected transitions, forgotten gems, and weekly science factoids. Every once in a while, we’ll feature themed playlists as well! Thursdays at 11am!

About the DJ

I’m PJ (Patrick Monreal) and have been at SPACE for just over a year now, coming to Seattle after hosting college radio at KZSU Stanford 90.1FM in the Bay Area for 2-3 years. I’m a PhD student in Astrobiology and Oceanography at the University of Washington, and I first became interested in radio broadcasting as a form of science communication. I try to keep that alive in my shows, by featuring science news and related songs.
